Apple1

On the land there are two kinds of computers: Mac and PC. PC used to be the most popular type of computer. However, as time goes by, Mac becomes more and more popular because of the design of it interns of the appearance, interface, programs, and the marketing. Another reason for is because the design field is getting bigger. The major of design is currently very potential, practical and popular major. It seems almost every country needs this kind of professions. As the design field is growing quickly, the market of Mac is expending too. Apple became so well known after iPod came out. Flash back to the history part; Apple1 was not only a very smart invention but also a brave try out because of the immature testing and product itself.
The Apple1 was mostly made in wood but motherboard, monitor and keyboard. It was invented in July, 1977. Apple1 was the first personal computer to be sold in fully assembled form, and it was the first personal computer to use a keyboard. When the Apply1 just came out, it was a huge deal for people on the land. People never seen a small screen could run an animation just by installing the media program. What sharked people the most was the capability and the functions of it. The first presentation of the Apple1 was located in an auditorium: it was like thousand of people watching the machine that has a part of typewriter and a part of TV.

The Desk

I like how the author interprets a desk very much. It is so interesting to see how the author is taking the object and turn it, flip it, rotate it and imagine it. I really like how the author compares the desk to many other objects. He tries to put the desk in many different kinds of spaces and next to different things. I will never think about a simple object can be develop or connected to many ways.

Soap-Powers and Detergents

It is very interesting and important for a design to know that circumstantial imperfection because a designer should have many different perspectives to analysis or interpret various of objects. I remember I read a book called the top 10 designers in the Eastern world. The book is talking about 10 designers in different field, for examples, graphic design, product design, furniture design and so on and so for. In that book the designer from Japan said a designer needs to have different eyes and thought from people in other fields because normal people are looking at things from the normal angle; however, a design have to be able to see something between the page. A designer should try to help people unconsciously because only designers can see why people react like they usually do and what’s between their actions and their subconscious do. In the reading, Soap-powders and Detergents, gives me the same feeling of the designer from Japan gave me. I also like the way that how the author related the category of powders to social appearance. I totally agree how things related to things and how two contrast things that have subtle details that in common with each other.

In the reading You Are Here, the main point is how map is acting an important role in our society. Map is not only a piece of paper with some information, but also the magic power that makes people feel more comfortable and calm when the person is in the city he or her is not familiar with. Since a map is so important that every place needs one, there are many professions have been involved: scientists, artists, designers, mathematicians and so on. Also, the size can from a small apartment to the world. According to the reading, scientists are still continuing creating the most ingenious and far-reaching maps in their laboratories. The reasons is because there are many known territories being reexplored and mapped all over again in novel ways. As things mentioned above, a map is a necessary element as well as guide in our society.

Mapping Report

It is very interesting that the reading says how maps working in people`s life. There many different maps: map for road, for restaurant, for cities, for countries and so on. It is very important to have maps to help people find something or remenber something. A map is like a system that cataloged things. Everyone has to have something to help them orgainize things in order to be able to find the thing he or she needs next time. Also, a map is a good way to help them feel less stress and have a clear mind to work on something else. In other words, maps help people to be more effecient and creative because a person can just get the right information that the person needs from a certain map or he or she can have more space to think, create or invent something. Map is a great invention for human revolution.
